Format
There are two main format types. These are Extended and
Comma Delimited.
Extended: The extended format was developed to
support a GM specification. Each data line within the
exported file contains one actual, plus file name, date / time, fixture,
feature type and attribute data. This is normally not a format used by most
SPC packages and does not conform well to spreadsheet use.
Comma Delimited: This format offer the greatest
flexibility for use with SPC packages and spreadsheet use. Each line
contains the full inspection providing well defined columns that are
controlled by the Selection Options.
Use 1-Plus Reporting: By checking this options,
Geomet will export the data values with one additional precision. For
example, if your reporting on locations is done with a setting of 4 decimal
places, the exported data will be saved with 5 decimal places.
This option is used to provide additional data when
results are used in post calculation such as in a spread sheet. Often the
reported data within Geomet would not match the reported data by a
spreadsheet. This was a result due to Geomet having full precision, which
can can have a 32 decimal place depth, when the manually entered data has
been rounded for reporting.
Selection Options
The Selection Option group controls the data fields that will be included
in the ASCII exported results file.
Include File Name: When this is checked, each line of exported
data will contain the Geomet Inspection file name. For example "yourfile.GMT".
Include Data and Time: When this is checked, the date and time
when the inspection was completed will be entered in the exported data line.
Include Serial Number: When this is checked, the Serial Number
that was entered in the Inspection Report
Header will be entered in the exported data line.
Include Fixtures Used: When this is checked, the Fixtures that
ware entered in the Inspection Report
Header will be entered in the exported data line. This option is helpful
when sorting data in SPC software packages.
Results Only: This option exports only the results, stripping away
all extra data. The results are contained in one column where one result per
line is used.
Column Integrity
All new inspection programs will take the initial SPC export format from
the choices selected in this System Options - SPC Format page. When writing
the export file for the first time, a series if "optx" codes will be
added in the first line. This is done to ensure subsequent inspection data
conforms to the original export format.
For example, if the export format was changed by selected or de-selecting
data fields, there would be a column shift. The data then would not match up
with the previous exported data. These "opt00x" flags ensures data and
column integrity is maintained.
