Installation notes:
Downloading the archive file:
When you
select the download button, you will be prompted to with the Opening....
dialog shown here. Select to save the UCCserver zip file. We suggest that
you save the file into:
C:\My Documents\Downloads\UccServer 30014
If this folder does not exist, please create it on your Geomet system
hard drive.
Expanding the file:
Depending on the program and version of your compression program will
determine the steps required. We will highlight the use of WinZip version
8.0 on a Windows XP system.
To expand, right click on the file:
C:\My Documents\Downloads\UccServer 30014\UCCSERVER_30014.zip
Choose "Extract Here" from the sub-menu. The extract utility will create
a new folder in this location called "UCCSERVER_30014" and expand all setup
files into this new folder.
Installing the UCCServer 3.00.14:
Open the folder :
C:\My Documents\Downloads\UccServer 30014\UCCSERVER_30014
and launch the application "UCCSERVER_30014.exe". Follow the instructions
provided by the Renishaw UCCServer Installation Wizard, we suggest that you
accept the default installation parameters by pressing <Next> for each page.
The new installed files will be place in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Renishaw\UCC\UCCSERVER
in a new folder called "UCCSERVER_30014"
Creating the Desktop Shortcuts:
Open the folder:
C:\Program Files\Renishaw\UCC\UCCSERVER\UCCSERVER_30014
Resize this folder to half the screen and ensure you can see a portion of
your desktop.
Locate
the file "UCCSERVER.exe". Place your mouse over this file and hold your
right mouse button down. While holding the right mouse button down, drag
your mouse onto the desktop area and release the right mouse button. A
sub-menu button will appear from which you should choose "Create shortcuts
here".
The final two steps involve editing the Target Path of the shortcut and
renaming of the shortcut.
To adjust the Target, right-click on the shortcut and choose
"Properties". The Properties dialog similar to the one shown at right, will
appear.
Do not edit the current path in the Target edit cell, but move to the end
of this target path and add " -Advanced -Command".
Close the Properties edit tool by accepting the change with the <Ok>
button.
The last step is to rename the shortcut file name to "UCCServer 30014".
This is an optional step, but is useful for identifications.
