Geomet Versions - 6.66.006.001
The U/V Rotary Table is connected to the CMM through the Helmel
ProCounter II CMM Interface. The interface is a digital 3 axis counter card
with quadrature digital counters that supports all major brands of digital
encoders.
Geomet communicates to the ProCounter II through a USB serial link and a
resident ActiveX control referred to as a CMM Interface. When Geomet is installed
on new systems, select the ProCounter II CMM Interface. The installer will register the ProCounter II
with the Windows system making it available for Geomet.
If you are adding the U/V Rotary Table to an existing Geomet system, you
will need to re-run the Geomet Installer from the supplied CD and choose the
ProCounter II CMM Interface.
Connecting the U/V Rotary Axis Table
The
U/V Rotary Axis Table is connected to the X(U) and Y(V) Axis Scale D-Sub 15
connectors on the rear of the ProCounter II CMM Interface. The Z Axis and
Touch Probe connectors are not utilized.
Connecting the ProCounter II to the PC
The
USB cable has a Type A connector on one end and a Type B on the other end.
Connect the Type B connector to the mating connector on the rear panel of
the ProCounter II Interface.
Connect the Type A connector to a open USB connector on your PC. If you do
not have a open USB connector, you may need to purchase a USB hub to extend your
capabilities.
If the ProCounter II is powered up when you connect to the PC, Windows
will inform you that new hardware has been found. Follow the recommendations
to install the new hardware. The rotary table is now ready for use.
