  Definition
The Circle Profile tool provides a visual description of the surface of the measured or constructed circle. This visual reference is helpful in describing the Circularity or Runout of the feature. Additionally it may be configured to overlay the tolerance Upper and Lower Limits to display the position with regard to its nominal.
  Activating the Circle Profile Function

The Circle Profile Tool is a post analysis tool. Select the measured or constructed circle in the inspection report by highlighting it with a left-click. Activate the feature sub-menu by using the right-click method. In  the menu select "Launch the Circle Profile Tool".

  Circle Profile Tool

The Circle Profile Tool provides two methods to review the connected data points of the circle. The first method is a circular plot showing:

  • Individual Data Points
  • Nominal Tolerance Data
  • High/Low Point positions
  • Actual feature size
  • R-Min/R-Max/R-Bar Values
  • Circularity
  • Print Routines

The graph of the Circle Profile is displayed both as a Circular format and as a single line describing the Circle in a unrolled state.

  Display Characteristics

There are several display options available to control the display of data.

Centered: This option is available when there is a position and size tolerance applied. When checked, displays the Circle Profile without regard to nominal position. Unchecked shows the Circle Profile as it relates to nominal size and position.

Connected: Add connector lines between data points. Useful when there are sufficient data points collected to describe the form of the Circle.

Tail: Draws connector line from the nominal circle to the data point. This connector line is color coded to represent whether the data point is within the Upper/Lower Tolerance limits.

End Point: Displays a circle representing the location of each data point.

Show Best Fit Dia.: Displays the reported size and location of the reported Circle.

Heavy Line: Enhances the weight of the lines and symbols when printing on high-resolution printers.

Super Elevation: Under normal conditions, Geomet calculates a display factor to separate the various elements being displayed in the graph area. Your can override this setting to exaggerate the display.
