Introduction |
|
The EZ Launch Menu System provides a simple, Touch Screen compatible user
interface for your Coordinate Measuring Machine in production environments.
Most CMM applications, including standard Geomet, requires that the operator
navigates the file storage system in Windows to locate the desired
inspection program. Some applications offer a limited single touch system,
or single application button system.
We listened to our customers who have submitted suggestions on how to
make inspection program access even better.

The EZ Launch Menu System |
|
There are two modes of operation for the EZ Launch menu System. One mode
requires the interaction by an operator to choose the inspection programs to
run. The other mode is a automated polling system that looks for the
presence of a script file or a digital I/O interface with PLCs, via the USB
port. |
|
The basic layout of EZ Launch is designed around
customized buttons that you add or take-away
from the display. Each button can have one or
mode inspection files attached it to allowing
for batch inspections.
Another
significant benefit of the EZ Launch Menu is the
assignment of dynamic Fixture Coordinate
Systems. Should your inspection process utilize
a fixture mounted to the CMM that has several
'Cradles' where a single part can be held by any
one of the cradles for inspection, all that
would have to be done is assign a Dynamic FCS
within you inspection file and attach a known
FCS to the button. Then one inspection file can
be positioned at any location within the CMM. |

EZ Launch Menu System and Q-DAS® |
|
Helmel Engineering is the first CMM Manufacturer to meet
the Certification level utilizing embedded native
support for the Q-DAS statistical format supporting the
GMPT K-Fields 20080314 specification. EZ Launch Menus
are expanded when Q-DAS is active to include a process
of step-by-step guides to meet the requirements of:

|
Geomet supports Q-DAS through a intuitive tree structure
that controls the flow of the process tree, building
proper K-Fields up to when the inspection file is
completed. Through this contained process, errors are
eliminated where errant K-Field could be entered. |
